5A - Attendee Follow
Always click Save at the bottom of the page in Setup - changes are not saved until the Save button is clicked.
This is an add-on module - if you have not purchased, leave OFF and go to the next step. If you would like to use this feature or want more information contact your CRM.
To specify which fields you want in the attendee profile, you will also need to set up the Attendee Form (Setup > Forms > Attendee). The default set up is used by 99% of our clients as GE only reveals the Company Name, Attendee Name and Attendee Job Description in the system to non-admin users.
1. Attendees
- ON if using attendee profiles.
2. Exhibitor Staff
- GE allows for exhibitor staff to have an attendee account if the show chooses to allow them to do so, and they can be identified as such (name to be chosen in a step below). Leave OFF if you do not want exhibitor staff to have an attendee profile.
- Please note the Exhibitor Staff account functionality is identical to the Attendee account functionality.
3. Display Attendee Dashboard Tiles
- On the attendee Dashboard Page, there are tiles for Exhibitors (Exhibitor List), Floor Plan, and Products. This makes it easy for the attendee to access these areas by clicking on the tile. If you chose not to display the tiles, turn to OFF.

Attendee home page with dashboard tiles turned on.
4. External Attendee Sign Up URL
- Until registration is live, the sign up URLs are set to a default "This Page is Coming Soon" message. If integrating with a registration company, they will set these fields to the appropriate links. You do not need to do anything here.
- If you are using GE as a simple reg page, please contact your CRM for further instructions.
5. Attendee Registration Support URL
- Until registration is live, the sign up URLs are set to a default "This Page is Coming Soon" message. If integrating with a registration company, they will set these fields to the appropriate links. You do not need to do anything here.
- If you are using GE as a simple reg page, please contact your CRM for further instructions.

- By default the external ID (Badge Number) is used in conjunction with the attendees last name to log into the system and this should be set to ON.
- If you want the attendee to choose their own username and password, set to OFF and "Allow Attendees to Change Their Passwords" to ON. The attendee will be prompted to choose a username and password when they log in the first time.
8. Name of External ID
- If the external ID is not the badge number and you are using something different in the external ID, you can identify it (i.e., Customer Number).
9. Allow Attendees to Change Their Passwords
- If using the ID and Last Name as the login, set to OFF.
- If requiring user to select a new username and password, set to ON.
10. Name of Attendee (Singular)
- Set the singular name of Attendee (i.e., Attendee, Buyer, etc.)
11. Name of Attendees (Plural)
- Set the plural name of Attendees (i.e., Attendees, Buyers, etc.)
12. Name of Booth Staff (Singular)
- Set the name of the booth staff singular name (i.e., Exhibitor, Booth Staff, etc.)
13. Name of Booth Staff (Plural)
- Set the name of the booth staff plural name (i.e., Exhibitors, Booth Staff, etc.)
14. Demo to Category Mapping
- If specified, this demo will be used to populate the attendee's default categories. Changing this value will automatically update any attendees without categories who have not logged in. Note: changing the categories will update the corresponding matches.
- For example: if you have the attendee choose a demographic of "I am Interested in meeting exhibitors in these areas," the system can be mapped to exhibitors in those areas.
- Further clarification: there may be a field in the demographics form which contains answers/values that are the same or mostly the same as the exhibitor product category values. If you choose this demographic question, those product categories that the attendee has chosen will map to a selection of the same exhibitor product categories in their profile, which will in turn increase the overall matcher score between the attendees and exhibitors.
15. Extra Attendee Dashboard Links
- GE has the ability to add additional links in the dashboard that are displayed on the attendee dashboard as well as in dashboard links in the email. Examples are: Housing, Sales for an event, etc.
- The system can also be set to auto log the attendee into the housing account etc. if the linking company can provide us with the access code used for the attendee. For example, Housing is www.housing.com and the housing company uses the attendee external ID and email address (or some other identifier like unique email address), GE will be set to www.housing.comjsp?show=##ext_id##&email=##email##&showId=429868
16. Upgrade Mappings
- Maps a reg code to a GoExpo Upgrade Package. Mappings immediately take effect for even existing attendees. Note: this feature must not be used in conjunction with the Upgrades column in the attendee import as they will interfere with each other. Please see your Account Rep for further details.
- For example: If the attendee has a reg code of ABC and there is an upgrade for attendees to the Big Party and all attendees with the reg code of ABC are invited to the party as part of their registration, then this set up will upgrade them.
